Maneater 2 officially revealed, coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027
The shark is back. Nintendo Life reports that Tripwire Interactive and Demiurge Studios officially announced Maneater 2 during a PlayStation State of Play broadcast.
The sequel is described as an "open-water action-RPG" and is confirmed to be in development for Nintendo's next-gen console, the Switch 2. It's currently scheduled to launch sometime in 2027.
According to the outlet, the game will take players to Neptune’s Kingdom, a luxurious underwater theme park and resort themed after the Roman Empire. The story will involve crashing an exclusive preview event for influencers and media.
The park's advanced marine research has led to "fascinating evolutions" under the surface, creating a sandbox for the player's bull shark to explore. The developers promise secrets to uncover, courses to traverse, and an "all-you-can-eat VIP buffet" of human targets.
The original Maneater launched on the Nintendo Switch in 2020. The sequel's announcement confirms it will be a day-and-date release across all platforms, including the Switch 2.
