Marathon Director Joe Ziegler Departs Bungie as Del Chafe III Steps Up
In another shakeup for Bungie, game director Joe Ziegler has announced his departure from the studio. According to IGN and Rock Paper Shotgun, he is leaving the team behind the upcoming extraction shooter Marathon.
The news comes roughly a month after Bungie conducted a wave of mass layoffs. Del Chafe III, who was previously Marathon's assistant game director, will now take over the game director role.
Per Rock Paper Shotgun, the leadership change arrives just ahead of a scheduled mid-season patch for Marathon next week. The studio recently delivered the final major update for Destiny 2.
