Marathon's new PvE mode Vault Breaker hits today, triples player count
The next big moment for Bungie's shooter Marathon is here. According to Eurogamer, the experimental PvE mode called Vault Breaker has launched today as part of a mid-season update.
It's a separate, time-limited roguelite experience, not a simple PvE toggle for the whole game. Bungie showed it off in a new trailer just before launch.
And players are jumping in. PC Gamer reports that the debut of this mode, also called Cryo Archive, has immediately tripled Marathon's daily player count. The mode is live for a limited time only.
