Marvel Snap's long-awaited Draft mode arrives next week
Marvel Snap players, get ready to shuffle up a new way to play. Per Polygon, the game's much-requested Draft mode is launching as a limited-time event starting August 24.
Matches in the new mode will begin with players choosing a starter set of three cards that fit archetypes like destroy or move. They'll then draft seven more cards, which come with modified stats or special ability boosts called augments.
The goal is to win five rounds, with players adding two more cards to their deck as they progress. Developer Sam Stoddard explained to GameSpot that creating Draft was a lengthy challenge due to Marvel Snap's small deck sizes and high card synergy.
Stoddard noted the mode is launching as a limited-time event so the team can gather player feedback. He said they need to see how it performs at a large scale before making any permanent decisions.
The mode will be available on Android, iOS, and PC. While its future after the initial event is not set, Stoddard indicated it likely won't be gone for long, as the developers have more ideas they want to test.
