Marvel Tokon Fighting Game Nears Half a Million Sales In First Week
A new Marvel brawler is punching its way into a lot of players' libraries. According to GameSpot, sales estimates from Alinea Analytics put Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls at nearly 485,000 copies sold in its first week, a strong start for a genre often considered niche.
The PlayStation 5 is the undisputed platform champion, reportedly accounting for 74% of sales, with the remaining 26% on Steam. Per the estimates, the game is on track to hit half a million units sold very soon.
While some might have hoped for a spiritual successor to the classic Marvel vs. Capcom series, Eurogamer's review clarifies this is its own beast. Their take? It's "the best tag fighter I've played in years," which is high praise in a genre that's been quiet.
