Meghan Markle in talks for a role on Netflix's The Gentlemen
Meghan Markle might be getting back in front of the camera. According to reports from Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, the former actress is in discussions to appear in a potential third season of the Netflix series The Gentlemen.
Per the outlets, talks are happening with series creator Guy Ritchie for a part that is reportedly being written specifically for the new season. The Hollywood Reporter describes the conversations as "advanced," while Variety notes no contract is yet in place and her potential role remains unidentified.
The news broke just as it was revealed that Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, are relocating to the United Kingdom. A reporter for the BBC, cited by THR, suggested the acting opportunity was "a key part of the puzzle" in the couple's decision to move.
The Gentlemen, starring Theo James, has not been officially renewed for a third season. Its second season is set to premiere on Netflix on September 3. Representatives for Markle and Netflix declined to comment to the trade publications.
Markle is best known for her seven-season role on the legal drama Suits, which she left in 2017 ahead of her royal wedding. She and Prince Harry have a production deal with Netflix, which has yielded docuseries like Harry & Meghan.
