Mike Flanagan's Carrie Has a Secret Dark Tower Easter Egg

Mike Flanagan's new take on Carrie for Prime Video has a hidden nod to another Stephen King epic, per /Film. A blink-and-you'll-miss-it Easter egg for The Dark Tower appears early in the show's first season.
In a scene at a construction site where Carrie's father works, a background sign reveals the project is from 'LaMerk Industries.' In King's Dark Tower books, LaMerk is a metalworks company allied with the villainous Crimson King.
The outlet reports Flanagan has long wanted to adapt The Dark Tower, but complex licensing for King's various properties has slowed that project. The showrunner may be using his current adaptations to start building a connected Stephen King TV universe.
The Carrie series finale opens the story to a larger world of psychics, a common theme in King's library. This could allow Flanagan to weave other King adaptations together without interfering with a future Dark Tower show.
/Film notes a second potential Dark Tower reference: a later episode shows Billy Nolan with a tattoo on his arm that resembles the Eye of the Crimson King symbol.
