Mindy Kaling Joins Kate Hudson's Netflix Comedy in Recurring Role

Mindy Kaling is joining the cast of Netflix's 'Running Point' for its upcoming third season, according to TVLine. The report states Kaling, who also co-creates and executive produces the series, will step in front of the camera as a character named Divya.

Her role is described as the chatty and self-assured boss of a well-known sports betting application. Like Kate Hudson's character Isla, Divya has broken ground as a woman leading a company in a field mostly run by men.

However, TVline notes their common ground stops there. Divya is set to become a persistent obstacle to Isla's goals throughout the new season.

Filming for Season 3 is currently happening in Los Angeles. Netflix has not yet announced when new episodes will be released.
