Modern Warfare 4 Beta Gets 12-Hour Extension and Double XP
The open beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is staying online longer than planned. According to reports from IGN and GameSpot, developer Infinity Ward has extended the beta period by 12 hours. It will now conclude at 10 PM Pacific Time tonight, which is 1 AM Eastern Time on September 2.
Infinity Ward announced the extension on social media, per IGN, citing the community's efforts to unlock beta rewards and camouflages. The studio is also activating double experience points for player progression and weapons until the beta shuts down.
GameSpot notes the beta was originally scheduled to end at 10 AM PT on September 1. The extension provides more time to reach the maximum level of 30, which grants a unique weapon blueprint.
The full game launches on October 23. Those who pre-order can start the campaign a week earlier on October 16. The title will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, PC, and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
