Monster Hunter Wilds Prologue Demo Hits Switch 2 Next Week

A generous demo for Monster Hunter Wilds is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 next week. According to a report from Eurogamer, the offline-only Prologue demo will be available starting October 19.

The demo lets players experience the game's opening up to the start of a chapter called 'To the Forest.' Per the report, it includes access to all 14 weapon types and the full character creator. Save data from the demo will carry over to the full game upon release.

Eurogamer notes a unique feature for the Switch 2 version: local multiplayer. Players with the demo on separate Switch 2 consoles can team up for co-op hunts nearby. This comes amid speculation about how the large-scale game will perform on the new hardware.

Capcom has stated that optimizing the game for Switch 2 was a 'painstaking, seemingly endless process' that ultimately helped improve performance across all other platforms. The full Switch 2 release of Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled for December 4.
