Netflix axes Oxenfree developer Night School Studio just weeks after new game launch
In a surprise move, Netflix is shutting down two game studios it had acquired. According to reports, Night School Studio, the developer behind the beloved narrative adventure Oxenfree and the recently released horror game Unhinged, is being closed.
Per Variety, the decision comes just six weeks after Unhinged hit the market. The streaming giant is also closing Moonloot, a Helsinki-based studio it founded in 2022.
Kotaku notes the shuttering ends Night School's run, which began with the critically acclaimed Oxenfree. The studio's final game, Unhinged, was backed by filmmakers David Fincher and Zach Cregger.
