Netflix Revs Up 'Tires' for a Fourth Season
Shane Gillis's blue-collar comedy 'Tires' is getting another season. Netflix officially renewed the series for a fourth run, per The Hollywood Reporter.
The streamer's VP of U.S. Comedy, Tracey Pakosta, said the show's audience is expanding, noting its third season recently landed at number five on Netflix's global Top 10 English TV chart. She added that the team is eager for the next chapter with the show's garage crew.
Gillis kept his comment simple, saying, "It's cool to get to make another season of Tires." His co-creator and director, John McKeever, echoed the excitement about continuing to work on the project.
The series, filmed at co-creator Steve Gerben's father's real Pennsylvania tire shop, follows the chaotic struggles of Will (Gerben) and Shane (Gillis) as they try to run Valley Forge Automotive. Netflix reports the first three seasons have racked up over 45 million views.
This renewal follows a broader creative partnership Gillis and McKeever signed with Netflix earlier this year to develop new projects and produce stand-up specials.
