Netflix's WWII Epic 'The Mosquito Bowl' Unleashes Harrowing Trailer

Netflix has dropped a gritty trailer for its upcoming World War II film, 'The Mosquito Bowl,' according to Collider. The movie is based on the true story of a football game played by U.S. Marines on Guadalcanal in 1944, a brief respite before the brutal Battle of Okinawa.
The film reunites filmmaker Peter Berg with author Buzz Bissinger, his cousin. Berg directed the movie and collaborated on the screenplay with writer Mark L. Smith. Bissinger wrote the bestselling nonfiction book that serves as the source material.
The cast includes Nicholas Galitzine, Bill Skarsgård, Ray Nicholson, and Tom Francis as the Marine football players. Former NFL kicker and broadcaster Pat McAfee will also appear as a drill sergeant.
The report states the movie will first hit theaters on October 30, before its streaming debut on Netflix starting November 25.
