Netflix to Debut Matthew Perry Docuseries in October
Netflix has set an October 27 release date for a three-part documentary series about Matthew Perry, per Variety.
The series, titled "The One About Matthew Perry," will draw from the Perry family's personal archive, featuring photos and videos that have never been shown publicly before. His sister, Mia Perry Bowick, is the central narrator for the project.
According to a Netflix description reported by Variety, the docuseries will follow Perry's path from a young comedian to a globally beloved sitcom star. It will also delve into his personal challenges, aiming to reflect the honest advocacy he was known for.
Director Mary Robertson, known for "Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV," is at the helm. Perry's sister said in a statement that she wanted to show the complete man beyond his famous role and his struggles, highlighting his humor and kindness.
Robertson added that Perry's story was only partially known to the public, and the series aims to reveal more through the perspectives of those closest to him.
