New Cast Members Join Third Season of TV's 'Has Fallen' Franchise
Production is underway on the third season of the action TV series spun from the Gerard Butler film franchise, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Titled 'Shadow Has Fallen', the new season has started filming in South Africa and the UK.
The show's leads, Ritu Arya and Tewfik Jallab, are returning for the season. Arya plays MI6 agent Zara Taylor, while Jallab portrays former French agent Vincent Taleb.
Three actors are joining the cast for this run. Iwan Rheon, Brendan Coyle, and Atandwa Kani have all signed on for the six-episode season.
Series creator Howard Overman, who wrote the season, teased its scope. He said the storyline follows the characters on their most difficult mission yet, which takes them into Southern Africa. Marco Kreuzpaintner and Alice Troughton are set to direct.
The show is a co-production from StudioCanal, Urban Myth Films, Millennium, and G-Base. StudioCanal stated the series is part of its strategy to produce large-scale projects in South Africa following a recent corporate acquisition.
