New Resident Evil Movie Could Be Franchise's Biggest Opening Ever

According to GameSpot, analysts are predicting the upcoming live-action Resident Evil movie could have the franchise's biggest opening weekend yet.

Director Zach Cregger's take on the horror IP is set to hit theaters on September 17.

The report notes that, while past live-action films in the series turned a decent profit on relatively small budgets, Cregger's movie is currently projected to have the best opening weekend by a comfortable margin.

GameSpot cited the official publication of the box office projections, though no specific numbers were detailed.
