New Resident Evil movie teaser reveals iconic zombie dogs with a twist
Zach Cregger's upcoming Resident Evil movie is bringing a classic monster back, but with a fresh and slimy twist. According to a report from MovieWeb, a new teaser has revealed the film will feature the franchise's iconic zombie dogs.
The creatures are a hallmark of the games, most famously bursting through a window in the original 1996 PlayStation title. However, the movie's version appears to be borrowing from a different entry in the series.
As detailed by MovieWeb, the dogs in the teaser are not your standard infected canines. They are shown concealing tentacles within their mouths, a feature that seems lifted from the Las Plagas parasites seen in Resident Evil 4.
The film, which hits theaters on September 18, 2026, follows a medical courier named Bryan, played by Austin Abrams. While the story uses no existing game characters, it does feature the nefarious Umbrella Corporation.
Fans will have to wait until fall 2026 to see exactly how this new viral threat works and what other game elements get a fresh coat of gore.
