New Resident Evil trailer drops, takes direct route to Raccoon City
A new trailer for Zach Cregger's upcoming Resident Evil movie has arrived, offering another chilling look at the video game adaptation. GameSpot reports the clip follows medical courier Bryan, played by Austin Abrams, as he takes a lucrative job transporting organs to the ominously named 'Raccoon City General'.
The preview also makes a direct connection to the games, per Kotaku, with Cregger's film clearly taking fans back to the infamous, zombie-plagued city. Nintendo Life notes the trailer teases iconic items from the franchise, including a typewriter, first-aid kit, and shotgun ammo, suggesting a more faithful approach. The first great RE film adaptation could be on the way, says Nintendo Life.
Separately, Eurogamer reports the European Union has approved the massive $55 billion acquisition of Electronic Arts by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund and other investment groups. The controversial deal clears the path for the largest private leveraged buyout in history.
