New Rings of Power trailer shows Sauron wielding the One Ring in season 3
Sauron is finally on the march. A new full trailer for season three of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power debuted at San Diego Comic-Con, giving a first look at the Dark Lord's full-scale war, per /Film.
The footage shows Sauron forging the fabled One Ring and later wearing it on his finger, standing before the fires of Mount Doom, as reported by MovieWeb. His armies of Orcs and early Ringwraiths, known as Nazgûl, are shown causing mayhem. A Balrog, voiced by Simon Pegg, also appears as an ally.
According to ScreenRant, a key scene in the trailer features the Númenórean leader Pharazôn declaring he has come to "slay a god." This indicates his forces will arrive in Middle-earth to join the Elves' fight, a late-stage development in the War of the Elves and Sauron.
The Hollywood Reporter and TVLine also confirmed the new footage. It features returning heroes Galadriel, Elrond, and Gandalf scrambling to mount a resistance as the conflict escalates.
Season three of The Rings of Power is set to premiere on Prime Video on November 11, 2026.
