Nicholas Hoult Cast as Gilderoy Lockhart in HBO's Harry Potter Series
Nicholas Hoult is suiting up for some self-aggrandizing magic. The actor has been cast as the vain wizard Gilderoy Lockhart in the second season of HBO's upcoming Harry Potter TV series, according to reports from Variety and The Hollywood Reporter.
Hoult will be taking on the role famously played by Kenneth Branagh in the 2002 film Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. The character is the author of many wildly popular, if not entirely truthful, magical memoirs.
The highly-anticipated series is set to make its debut on HBO and HBO Max on December 25, with its first season adapting the story of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
