Nicolas Cage's Spider-Noir canceled by Prime Video after one season

Prime Video has pulled the plug on the live-action 'Spider-Noir' series starring Nicolas Cage, per reporting by /Film. The show, which premiered in May 2026, has been canceled after its initial eight-episode run.

Despite strong reviews and 11 Primetime Emmy nominations, Deadline reports the series didn't perform well enough to justify its high cost. The period superhero drama, which was produced in both color and black and white, carried a significant budget.

While 'Spider-Noir' briefly hit second place in Nielsen's streaming rankings, its viewership quickly dropped. The decision to release all episodes at once may have contributed to its rapid fade from the cultural conversation.

Nicolas Cage seems at peace with the conclusion. In a statement to Deadline, he framed the single season as a complete artistic statement for his version of the character and expressed a desire to move forward to new projects.

Showrunner Oren Uziel told Variety the story was designed as a closed-ended narrative, comparing its structure to a long movie that neatly resolves its central mystery. He admitted having ideas for a second season but stated he has no regrets about the finished work.
