Nicolas Cage Stars in Diner Shootout Thriller 'Best Pancakes in the County'
Nicolas Cage is back in guns-blazing mode for a new movie set entirely within a local eatery. Per MovieWeb, the film 'Best Pancakes in the County' traps a group of people inside a roadside diner during a violent confrontation.
The story, written and directed by Ken Sanzel, involves rogue federal agents, a con man with a shady history, and a secretive waitress. Cage plays the fast-talking criminal, a character credited only as 'the S.O.B.' In the newly released trailer, his character appears to be sporting a facial prosthetic, hinting at a rough past.
According to the footage, the chaos stems from a hard drive containing damaging CIA information. This sparks a massive firefight with bullets flying over the diner counter. Shelley Hennig portrays the waitress, while Justin Long plays another employee caught in the crossfire.
Director Ken Sanzel stated that working with Cage again allowed them to craft a character who is 'funny, dangerous and completely unpredictable.' He described the goal as turning an ordinary breakfast spot into a pressure cooker of hidden agendas that eventually explodes.
The film also stars Lauren German, Ravi Patel, and Brandon Mychal Smith. 'Best Pancakes in the County' is scheduled to hit theaters and digital platforms on November 20, 2026.
