Nintendo announces back-to-back Direct showcases for September 2026
Nintendo has scheduled two major Direct presentations for September 2026, airing on consecutive days, per IGN. The first show is dedicated to The Legend of Zelda's 40th anniversary and will stream on Tuesday, September 8. The broadcast kicks off at 7 AM Pacific Time, 10 AM Eastern Time, and 4 PM Central European Summer Time, and is scheduled to run for about half an hour.
The second presentation, a general Nintendo Direct, will follow on Wednesday, September 9, at the same time slot. According to Nintendo, this show will focus on games launching for the Nintendo Switch 2 in the upcoming winter season.
IGN will host live pre-shows starting five minutes before each Direct begins. The outlet will also run live post-show discussions for an hour after each presentation ends, featuring its editorial team.
The report speculates that the Zelda Direct will likely feature a detailed look at the upcoming Ocarina of Time remake and could include a formal reveal for the planned Zelda movie. For the general Direct, expected updates include games like Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave and Nintendo Switch Sports Resort.
