Christopher Nolan's new epic is already rewriting the box office rulebook. The Hollywood Reporter notes that 'The Odyssey' hauled in $17.6 million in previews, setting it up for a potential $117 million opening weekend.

According to MovieWeb, the film has already smashed a major record in mere hours, surpassing the preview night of a past $1-billion movie. JoBlo confirms the roaring start, reporting a bigger preview haul than Nolan's last hit, 'Oppenheimer'.

The star-studded feature from Universal is this weekend's only wide release, with a cast including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, and Anne Hathaway.
