Nolan's The Odyssey smashes records with $120 million opening

Christopher Nolan's latest epic is rewriting the box office history books. The Odyssey launched with a thunderous $51 million on its first Friday alone, per Variety, and is now estimated to have cleared a massive $120 million for its opening weekend.

That staggering figure makes it the fifth-biggest R-rated opening ever, according to JoBlo. It also marks Nolan's best-ever opening weekend for a film that isn't The Dark Knight, TheWrap reports.

ScreenRant claims the film broke five major theatrical records in its first three days. Collider notes it has already outperformed the debut of the sci-fi hit Dune: Part Two, leaving that modern classic in the dust.
