Obsidian director slams 'cold take artists' after brutal Xbox layoffs
An Obsidian Entertainment director is firing back at critics claiming the studio has lost its soul. According to IGN, director Brandon Adler is tired of seeing 'cold take artists' who are 'running their mouths' about how Obsidian has changed.
Adler, a 20-year veteran and director on The Outer Worlds 2, described the period following Microsoft's mass Xbox layoffs as an 'extremely difficult week at Obsidian,' per GameSpot. The cuts reportedly included the cancellation of an 'Avowed 2.'
In a post highlighted by Eurogamer, Adler stressed how hard it's been to see people 'spouting off' about what the studio 'is or what it isn't.' He is currently game director on an unannounced project at the studio.
