Odessa Young Cast as Charlene in Michael Mann's 'Heat 2'
Deadline reports that Odessa Young has landed a key role in Michael Mann's upcoming sequel, 'Heat 2'. She will play Charlene, the wife of Chris Shiherlis, a role originated by Ashley Judd in the 1995 film. Leonardo DiCaprio is set to play Shiherlis.
According to JoBlo, the character of Charlene is featured across all three timelines of the story, which are set in 1988, 1995, and 2000. The narrative will depict her meeting Shiherlis in 1988, being investigated by Vincent Hanna (Christian Bale) after the original film's events, and a later reunion in 2000.
The outlet also notes that María Cid is reportedly set to play Gabi, the daughter of Neil McCauley's former flame, who becomes a major figure in the 2000 storyline. Several other key roles, including the character of Ana and returning figures like Michael Cheritto, remain uncast.
Per the report, filming on 'Heat 2' is scheduled to begin in November, with a likely 2028 release date.
