Only Murders in the Building heads to London for December 2026 premiere
Charles, Oliver, and Mabel are crossing the pond. Per TVLine, Season 6 of "Only Murders in the Building" will premiere on Hulu on Tuesday, December 8, 2026, and will be set in London.
The season, reportedly being dubbed "Only Murders in London," will see the trio investigating the apparent murder of Cinda Canning, the podcast host played by Tina Fey. According to Vulture, the official logline says the victim "arrives at their doorstep, summoning them to London to catch her killer."
The season will feature a massive roster of British guest stars. TVLine reports that Meryl Streep and Da'Vine Joy Randolph will return, and they'll be joined by a slew of newcomers including Olivia Colman, David Tennant, Peter Capaldi, Jodie Whittaker, Jim Broadbent, Richard Ayoade, and Jennifer Saunders. Vulture notes each of the 22 announced guests will play a character, not appear as themselves.
Specific plot details from Vulture include Charles discovering a U.K. reboot of his old show "Brazzos" and meeting his British counterpart. Jennifer Saunders will play a designer inspired by Vivienne Westwood who is involved with the reboot. Olivia Colman will play a writer.
MovieWeb adds that the December release date is a shift for the series, which has traditionally aired in late summer and fall. Showrunner Jordan Hoffman told the outlet the season has a "Christmas vibe." The gap between the Season 5 finale in October 2025 and this premiere will be nearly 13.5 months.
