Original Darkwing Duck voice actor Jim Cummings won't return for reboot
Jim Cummings, the voice behind the original Darkwing Duck, says he's not coming back for the Disney revival.
Cummings confirmed the news in a red carpet interview with Collider, per JoBlo and TheWrap. He stated he recorded a pilot years ago to test the waters for a return, which was met with enthusiasm.
However, he revealed the new series is moving forward without him. Cummings said the production is hiring other actors to voice both his role as Drake Mallard and Terry McGovern's role as Launchpad McQuack.
His final comment on the matter was pointed. According to the reports, Cummings said he hopes the team behind the reboot gets precisely what's coming to them, calling the situation crazy.
The reboot has been in development since 2020, with production company Point Grey, founded by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, attached.
