Overwatch's Lifeweaver hero has mysteriously vanished from the game
The support hero Lifeweaver has been completely removed from Overwatch, according to a report from Kotaku. Players booting up the game have found him missing from the hero select screen, and he's even unavailable in the practice range.
Blizzard has not officially announced why the character was pulled, but an in-game memo obtained by Kotaku states Lifeweaver was removed due to "an identified gameplay issue." The memo says the team is investigating and working on a fix, but offers no timeline for his return.
Kotaku notes this follows a recent change that allowed other players to cancel Lifeweaver's Life Grip ability. The outlet speculates the removal could be tied to a game-breaking bug or a reversal of that controversial change, but nothing is confirmed.
The hero's sudden disappearance has left players confused, with no estimated time for a fix. Blizzard's memo promises Lifeweaver will return once "stability and competitive integrity are fully restored."
