Palworld player numbers surge to near-record highs after 1.0 release

Palworld player numbers surge to near-record highs after 1.0 release

Palworld just hit version 1.0, and the players came back in a big way. According to reports from VGC and PC Gamer, the game saw a huge surge in concurrent players over the weekend, with a peak of nearly 900,000.

This makes it the game's second-highest player count ever, only behind its massive 2.1 million peak from early 2024. Eurogamer notes the surge has made Palworld one of the most-played titles on Steam right now.

Rock Paper Shotgun reports the game, which has sold 40 million copies, has finally launched out of early access after a controversial journey that included lawsuits from Nintendo over its Pokémon-inspired creature designs.
