Pendulum trailer shows Joseph Gordon-Levitt in a creepy healing retreat horror
A first look has arrived for the horror film Pendulum, produced by Darren Aronofsky and written and directed by Mark Heyman. The teaser trailer, reported by JoBlo, features Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Phoebe Dynevor as a married couple seeking solace at an unconventional wellness center.
According to the official description, Gordon-Levitt's character grows suspicious of the facility's leader, played by Jacki Weaver, while his wife becomes increasingly drawn into her methods. The couple must figure out if the practices are truly therapeutic or hide a dangerous reality.
Writer-director Mark Heyman called the project "deeply personal" and inspired by family stories, noting that shooting in New Mexico, where the real events occurred, made the experience surreal. He expressed excitement about unleashing the "freaky head trip" on audiences.
The film, which also stars Norman Reedus, is scheduled for release on January 1, 2027, per distributor Vertical.
