Phasmophobia hits 30 million sales as its Crimson Eye Halloween event begins

Kinetic Games, per a report from Eurogamer, announced its hit ghost-hunting game Phasmophobia has surpassed 30 million lifetime sales. The milestone was shared alongside the launch of the game's annual Crimson Eye Halloween event, which runs through November 1.

The Crimson Eye event brings a blood moon to a daily rotation of maps, making ghosts faster and draining sanity quicker for increased rewards. The participating locations include Tanglewood Drive, Camp Woodwind, and several farmhouses and streets.

Players can unlock community rewards like a Beholder ID Card and a Blood Moon Trophy, while personal goals offer a charm and a t-shirt. A Twitch campaign from October 8-15 offers a Crimson Eye t-shirt cosmetic for watching two hours of streams, and a double XP period runs from October 15-22.

The final week, from October 26 to November 1, brings back the Ghost Hunts 4 Hearts charity drive supporting the American Heart Association. The community raised over $100,000 for the charity last year.

CEO Daniel Knight reflected on the game's journey, stating his initial goal was to sell 1,000 units in its first year. The full 1.0 release is now scheduled for the second half of 2027, with development sneak peeks promised for next year. The game is currently available on PC, PlayStation 5, PS VR2, and Xbox Series X/S, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version still planned.
