Prime Video's 'Neagley' spinoff lands a second season renewal

The 'Reacher' spinoff series 'Neagley' is coming back for more. Variety reports that Amazon has officially renewed the show for a second season.
The series, starring Maria Sten as private investigator Frances Neagley, premiered all eight episodes of its first season on September 16. According to Amazon, the debut season pulled in an audience of 40 million total viewers within its first two weeks on the service.
The streamer also claims the show's first season is the fourth most-watched original series launch in Prime Video history, with more than half of its viewership coming from outside the United States.
Peter Friedlander, who leads television for Amazon MGM Studios, praised the show in a statement obtained by Variety. He said audiences have embraced the character and credited Sten's performance along with the work of the showrunners.
TVLine notes the cast also includes Greyston Holt, Adeline Rudolph, and Damon Herriman, with 'Reacher' star Alan Ritchson making a guest appearance. The story follows Neagley seeking justice after a friend's suspicious death.
The renewal news follows the recent announcement that the parent series, 'Reacher,' has been picked up for a sixth season.
