The classic action-adventure game Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is getting a fresh chance on PC, per a report from Collider. The outlet details a new version released by digital storefront GOG, which provides technical updates for modern systems.
This re-release includes native support for widescreen and ultrawide monitors, an in-game frame rate limiter, and compatibility fixes to ensure it runs on current PCs and Windows 11. The update focuses solely on technical performance, not a visual overhaul, leaving the original character models, environments, and combat unchanged.
According to Collider, the menu remains in its original 4:3 aspect ratio to avoid interface bugs. The game is currently priced at $2.99, a discount from its standard $9.99 cost, with the sale running until August 23.
The release follows the reported cancellation earlier this year of a planned, full-scale remake of the title. This GOG version offers a functional, if not graphically renewed, way to play the flagship installment.
