Quake gets surprise 30th anniversary campaign from MachineGames
Talk about a blast from the past. The classic shooter Quake just got a major, free update to celebrate its 30th birthday, per IGN. MachineGames, the studio behind Wolfenstein: The New Order, has co-developed a brand-new 19-level campaign called 'Dawn of the Machine' for the 2021 remaster.
The update is live now on all platforms, including Nintendo Switch. It adds a hefty chunk of new content alongside archival development materials, according to PC Gamer.
Polygon reports the new episode gives players a fresh reason to dive back into the seminal first-person shooter three full decades after it first launched. The studio behind the original game, id Software, is once again teaming up with MachineGames for the surprise drop.
