Reacher series teases first direct sequel story for season 6

Prime Video's 'Reacher' has been renewed for two more seasons, and the show's path is setting up its first direct sequel story. According to ScreenRant, season 5 will adapt Lee Child's novel 'Make Me', which follows a particularly brutal case for the drifting hero.
The outlet reports that the book 'Make Me' has a natural follow-up in the next novel, 'The Midnight Line'. This would mark the first time the TV series directly continues a story from one season into the next, as it has previously jumped around the book series out of order.
ScreenRant notes that 'The Midnight Line' takes a different, more emotional tone. The story begins with Reacher finding a military ring in a pawn shop and embarking on a quest to return it, tackling themes of veteran struggles and addiction.
This potential shift could be a risk for the action-heavy show, but also a chance to explore a more vulnerable side of Alan Ritchson's Reacher. The actor's performance could be tested by this more introspective material if the showrunners decide to adapt it for season 6.
