Rockstar Drives GTA 6 Cars Through Real Miami in Wild Promo Stunt
Rockstar Games is hitting the streets of Miami with some very expensive marketing, per IGN. The developer modded real-world vehicles to look exactly like cars from the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI and paraded them around the city in a convoy.
The cars were outfitted with Leonida license plates, matching the game's fictional version of Florida. The parade reportedly included a Lamborghini police car painted in VCPD livery, as well as a McLaren made to resemble the in-game Progen Emerus.
Other recognizable GTA vehicles spotted included the Cheetah, Coquette D10, Tempesta, and the Manana. Social media reactions captured by IGN were largely positive, with one user calling the police Lamborghini "FIRE" and another joking that Miami treats a game launch like a normal city event.
Rockstar's massive marketing push comes as the game's November 19 release date for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S approaches. The studio has previously conducted research trips across Florida to inform its satirical recreation of the state.
