Rupert Grint to Return as Ron Weasley in Broadway's Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
Ron Weasley is heading back to Platform 9 ¾. According to a report from JoBlo, Rupert Grint will reprise his iconic role in the Broadway production of *Harry Potter and the Cursed Child* next year.
Grint is scheduled to perform at New York's Lyric Theatre from February 2 through May 30, 2027. He last played the character 15 years ago in the final film.
In a statement provided to the outlet, Grint said stepping back into the role feels "full-circle," especially now that he is a father himself. He called the opportunity "both very familiar and completely new."
He won't be the only original cast member on the boards. Tom Felton is currently playing Draco Malfoy in the same production, though JoBlo notes Felton is set to depart the show on January 3, 2027, before Grint begins his run.
The stage play, set 19 years after *Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows*, follows Harry's son Albus and Draco's son Scorpius on a new magical adventure. Despite long-running rumors, a film adaptation of *The Cursed Child* seems unlikely, per the report.
