Sadie Sink Circling Lead in A24's Adaptation of 'The Guest'

Sadie Sink is in talks to star in a film adaptation of Emma Cline's bestselling novel "The Guest," according to The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline.

The "Stranger Things" star would also produce the project, per the reports. A24 and Ari Aster's Square Peg are negotiating for the rights.

Writer-director Lorene Scafaria is also circling the project to direct. Scafaria previously directed "Hustlers" and has directed episodes of "Succession."

The novel, published in 2023, follows a 22-year-old woman who, after being ejected from her wealthy boyfriend's Hamptons home, decides to drift through the exclusive summer community in a desperate attempt to return. The book was longlisted for the PEN/Faulkner Award.

MovieWeb reports that Sink is a genuine fan of the book and moved to attach herself early, before bringing Scafaria aboard. All deals are still in the negotiation stage.
