Samara Weaving joins Nicholas Braun in killer wasp thriller Hivemind
Samara Weaving is sticking with horror. According to a Deadline report covered by JoBlo, the actress has signed on to star opposite Nicholas Braun in a new environmental thriller titled Hivemind.
The film, now shooting in Dublin, follows a team of local officials confronting a newly evolved species of deadly wasps. Their mission is to stop the insects from triggering a worldwide pandemic.
Director Ciarán Foy, known for Sinister 2 and Eli, is helming the project from a script by Peter Gaffney. Thunder Road and Badlands are producing, with Amazon MGM Studios set to distribute the movie internationally on Prime Video.
Weaving's schedule is packed. The report notes she has also joined the Marvel franchise, set to play the mutant Emma Frost in a new X-Men film. Her co-star Braun is best known for his Emmy-nominated role as Cousin Greg on HBO's Succession.
