Scrapped Quake 4 expansion gets surprise public release from old hard drive
A long-lost expansion for Quake 4 has just been uploaded to GitHub for fans to explore. The project, called 'Quake 4: Awakening,' was in development at Ritual Entertainment before being cancelled.
The files were discovered on an old hard drive by a former XCOM 2 developer, PC Gamer reports. The developer stated that finding and releasing the project 'essentially saved my life,' though the outlet did not elaborate on the personal context.
