Sharon Horgan hunts for 'fun, lightly degrading sex' in HBO's 'Youth' trailer
HBO dropped the first trailer for its new comedy series "Youth," starring and created by Sharon Horgan, according to Variety.
The show follows a woman in her fifties, recently divorced, who dives back into the dating scene while managing family duties. Her son is heading to university, and her parents require her attention.
In the preview, Horgan's character Alex gets a bleak medical diagnosis. A doctor tells her arthritis in her jaw means "no more blowjobs," leaving Alex stunned. She later tells a friend she wants to get back out there for "just fun, lightly degrading sex," a comment overheard by her mortified son.
Alex is heard in voiceover questioning if she can still be sexy in her sixties, lamenting that she hasn't had a man in her bed in four years. The trailer shows her awkwardly dancing with a younger man, bickering with her ex-husband, and going on a date with a new man played by Rupert Friend.
"Youth" is set to premiere with two episodes on September 20. New episodes will then roll out weekly through November 1.
