Shemar Moore Returns as Hondo in New Starz S.W.A.T. Exiles Trailer
Starz released a trailer for its upcoming spin-off series, 'S.W.A.T. Exiles,' which premieres on September 25. Variety reports the series sees Shemar Moore returning to his role as LAPD S.W.A.T. Sergeant Daniel 'Hondo' Harrelson.
According to TVLine, the story finds Hondo having left the force after a deadly mission. He is recruited to lead a new squad of young outsiders.
The trailer introduces his new team, including a social media gun influencer, a tactical expert with poor social skills, a determined rookie, a problematic wildcard, and a secretive, ambitious member. Hondo also faces a problem within his own unit: a leak is passing information to outside forces.
The series logline suggests a conspiracy is unfolding, with powerful people aiming to dismantle the S.W.A.T. unit in favor of a more privatized force. Jason Ning is the showrunner.
While Moore is the main returning star, TVLine notes guest appearances from original series actors like Patrick St. Espirit as Commander Hicks and Jay Harrington as Deacon. David Lim will also reprise his role later in the season.
