Shrek 2 Remastered Trailer Mocks GTA 6, Launches in November

Aspyr Media has announced a modern remaster of the 2004 co-op game Shrek 2, set to launch on November 10, per IGN. The reveal came during an ID@Xbox showcase.
The trailer shows off upgraded visuals for the game, which lets players control Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, and other characters from the DreamWorks sequel. It recreates moments from the film in a squad-based action-adventure format.
Notably, the announcement trailer pokes fun at the impending release of Grand Theft Auto VI. Rockstar's blockbuster is scheduled for November 19, just nine days after the Shrek game. The trailer mimics GTA 6's Vice City aesthetic and even parodies its iconic box art, embracing the crowded release window.
The original Shrek 2 game was released on PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube. This new version is coming to Xbox Series X/S. Aspyr Media is handling the remaster, and pre-orders are now available.
