Simu Liu says his 'Sleeping Dogs' movie is alive and talking
The long-awaited film adaptation of the video game 'Sleeping Dogs' might finally be moving out of park. Actor Simu Liu, who is attached to star and produce, says the project now has a genuine shot.
According to IGN, Liu stated the movie has "a REAL path forward" as his team continues to negotiate with the game's publisher, Square Enix. The 'Shang-Chi' star has been championing the undercover cop story for years.
A deal with the rights holders is the key hurdle left to clear. If talks go well, fans of the cult classic open-world game could finally see it roar to life on the big screen.
