Solid Snake's Japanese voice actor wants Konami to make another Metal Gear

Akio Otsuka, the Japanese voice of Solid Snake, says he wants Konami to release another Metal Gear game for the fans, even without series creator Hideo Kojima. Otsuka spoke to Japanese outlet Bunshun, per VGC.

Otsuka previously vowed never to work on a Metal Gear project without Kojima. He expressed deep admiration for Kojima's independent journey after leaving Konami, calling it an emotional story of building a new studio and facing the risk of failure with Death Stranding.

He reiterated his personal stance, telling Bunshun, "I don't want to do any Metal Gear that doesn't involve Director Kojima." He said he takes pride in helping build Kojima's creation and can't back down from that position.

Despite this, Otsuka believes Konami should still make a new game. "For Metal Gear fans all over the world," he said. "There are fans all over the world eagerly waiting for it. So let’s make one more."

He reasoned that since Kojima is busy with his own projects like Death Stranding, Konami should deliver what fans want. When asked if he'd told Kojima about this desire, Otsuka laughed and said, "I'll leave that to your imagination."
