Sony Drops 2027 Dates for '24 Jump Street' Sequel and Ridley Scott's 'Treasure Island'

Sony Pictures has locked in a holiday 2027 calendar for two major titles, according to Variety. First up is a new take on 'Treasure Island' directed by Ridley Scott and featuring Hugh Jackman, scheduled for November 11.
Following that, the long-gestating comedy sequel '24 Jump Street' will hit theaters on December 10. The date was confirmed in a studio press release, per MovieWeb.
For the 'Jump Street' threequel, the three lead actors from the previous films are officially set to return. Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, and Ice Cube will all be back on duty.
Producer Phil Lord joked about the title, attributing the skip from '23' to '24' to a nod for a previous iteration of a potential third film that didn't materialize, MovieWeb reports. Specific plot details remain under wraps.
JoBlo also noted the scheduling announcements from Sony, which position both films for the 2027 holiday corridor.
