Co-writer and producer Chris Miller has publicly criticized the leak. According to Variety, Miller wrote online that he is "Not a fan of leaks of unfinished footage."

The leak comes as the film is still deep in production, with a theatrical release scheduled for 2027. ScreenRant notes that the leak has prompted an official response from the Marvel writer, though Sony has not officially commented.
