Square Enix prices Octopath Traveler Switch 2 ports at $60, Kotaku calls it ridiculous

Square Enix is bringing the first two Octopath Traveler RPGs to the Switch 2, per Nintendo Life. Both games will launch with visual and performance upgrades.

The western release is set for October 1, 2026, and they'll be available digitally or physically. The Japanese versions are already out.

Kotaku reports the ports will cost the full $60 each, sparking criticism. The outlet calls it 'ridiculous' to charge premium price for what it frames as a minor resolution bump.
